- 12 oz fresh cranberries 1 package or ~340 grams
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tbsp orange zest about 2 oranges
- 1 cup orange juice about 2-4 fresh oranges
Rinse the cranberries in fresh water. Discard any that have become mushy.
Place the cranberries, honey, orange zest, and orange juice in a large soup pot on the stove over medium heat.
Cook uncovered at a gentle simmer, stirring frequently until most of the cranberries have popped, for 10-15 minutes.
Remove from the fire and allow the sauce to cool. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
Serve warm as an accompaniment for proteins or use as a jam.
Doubling this recipe is almost always a good idea, especially if serving more than 4-6 people or you want leftovers.
Storage Instructions:
This recipe stores well in the fridge. It can even be canned using a water bath method for shelf storage like most jams.
